More of what works, less of what doesn’t for our heroes.

We heal families so they can heal communities.

Services

Pine Trees Counseling Center, 501c3 is a non profit organization that provides Veterans, First Responders, and their families with services that keep families together and end generational trauma.

We are partnered with and operate out of The Hope Place and are located in Mansfield, Texas.

Our field has learned a lot about trauma treatment in the last decade, but the VA has not put it into practice.

It’s outdated and ineffective compared to current treatments.

Effective, brief therapy is possible.

To heal the servant leaders of our communities from the traumas they endure while protecting us.

We do this by providing our clients with mental health approaches that are shown to have higher outcomes and lower dropout rates as compared to treatments used by the VA.

We encourage treatment for the whole family - no one is left behind.

Our Values

Your Donation

For reasons of privacy and efficiency, we do not accept insurance.

Your donation removes one of the largest barriers to treatment for our nation’s heroes.

The Cost.

After contracting with our clients for a rate they can afford, your donation supports the remainder of the fee charged by the therapist.

Why do we do this? We encourage family health and wellbeing in our clients and in our therapists. A broke, burned out therapist is not a good therapist. A good therapist is worth their weight in gold, and our heroes should get nothing short of the best.

About PTCC

Pine Trees Counseling Center was born out of gratitude for the non profits that helped heal the founder’s family and the knowledge that our community deserves better.

A Word From Our Founder

There is a vast difference between someone’s character and their trauma symptoms. Trauma changes everything. It changes our bodies, our minds, our faith, our children, and our communities.
— Rachel Malquist LPC-S

Our Founder and President, Rachel Malquist LPC-S, is the proud wife of an Operation Enduring Freedom Navy veteran. She graduated with a bachelors in Psychology from Midwestern State University.

She continued her studies at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, TX and received her Masters in Professional Counseling to become a licensed professional counselor. During her studies she traveled abroad to BREIF: The Centre for Solution Focused Practice Center in London where she practiced Solution Focused Therapy by some of the best in the world. Her experience shaped her perception of what trauma treatment SHOULD look like instead of what is currently offered.

Today, she and her team work together using their experience and education to support the efforts of Pine Trees Counseling Center.

“Wow! They have a gorgeous location and office, offer a therapy approach that helps you make progress even in just the FIRST session, and you can't beat the small animal therapy (goats!)”

— E.C
